Why choose a .SUPPORT domain?

Here is something easily forgotten: nobody arrives at a support site in a good mood. Your visitor has already tried something, it did not work, and they may well have lost twenty minutes already. That dictates everything: no decorative landing page, no introductory video, a search box that actually works, and a way to reach a human visible on the first screen. A dedicated address separates that experience from the sales site, which is exactly what is needed.

The annoyed visitor

A way to reach somebody, visible without scrolling. Hiding contact behind six clicks is the most expensive decision a service desk makes.

The knowledge base

Short articles, one problem per page, written in the customer’s words. Done well, it settles half your enquiries before they are made.

Tickets

Reference number, status, stated response time, history. Knowing where a request stands is worth nearly as much as the fix.

Service status

Current outage, planned maintenance, past incidents. A public status page prevents hundreds of calls during a single outage.

The other sense

“Support” also means backing: peer support, advocacy, standing behind a cause. An entirely legitimate use, in a very different register.

• It separates service from sales. support.brand.com dilutes; brand.support keeps the two journeys cleanly apart.
• No registration restrictions. No service level commitment owed to the registrar.
• It works as an email address too. help@harding.support says what the inbox is for, which speeds up triage.
