Why choose a .FUND domain?

A fund always has two things: a name, and a reason to exist. Endowment, emergency fund, seed fund, memorial fund — in every case somebody set money aside for one specific purpose and gave it a name. That is what makes this extension unusual: it serves a portfolio manager and a family foundation equally well, and the word betrays neither.

The investment fund

Strategy, track record, regulatory documents, investor reporting. A fund often carries a name distinct from its management company: the suffix lets it have an address of its own.

The foundation or endowment

Bursaries, legacies, protected capital from which only income is spent. Donors check existence and governance before giving — a clean address is the first sign of seriousness.

The appeal

A campaign has a start, a target and an end. A short address travels by word of mouth, prints on a poster, and outlives whichever crowdfunding platform is current.

The memorial fund

Set up in someone’s memory, usually by a family, usually in a hurry. An address bearing the person’s name is passed on more gracefully than an anonymous collection link.

The seed fund

The founders looking for you read dozens of profiles a week. A short name with no hyphens sticks after a single meeting.

What it actually changes

• The word crosses two worlds. Few extensions serve finance and philanthropy this naturally; this one does without either looking out of place.
• A fund deserves its own address. It carries a name distinct from its manager and often outlives it.
• No registration restrictions. No charity number and no securities registration to show the registrar.
• It works as an email address too. giving@harrowfoundation.fund is said without spelling it out, which counts when you are asking by phone.
